December, 2006:

Boy,
it’s been a long time since I wrote here...just shows how time flies, as
well as having A LOT to do....and I’m supposed to be a ”disability”
pasient...who does have a lot of chronic pain, I’ll give life
that....unfornately.
This year
has been full of many different fazes.
First, we
were faced with some health problems here in our cattery – which is
TOTALLY taken care of – we have a clean bill of health here, but it was
scary.
The real
message is: WHENEVER A NEW CAT/KITTEN COMES INTO YOUR CATTERY – ISOLATE
AND TEST IT BEFORE INTEGRATING WITH THE OTHERS! ESPECIALLY WITH
IMPORTS!!!! This will save you from a lot of hardship and costly
treatments etc. For more information on our scary story that is happily
over, feel free to contact me!
We are
investing in a small condominium in Thailand (Phuket), as this is the ONLY
was I am pain free and don’t have to take medication. In that context,
my husband has wanted to downsize the cattery. This has been a heart
breaking thing for me, and I hadn’t really accepted it until just a few
months ago (we’ve talked about it for over 2 years). I think this had a
lot to do with the problems mentioned above also – we were both feeling
tired, and breeding wasn’t fun anymore.
Well, he suddenly decided recently that our cattery should stay active, as
we both feel a lift after everything if fine here now, and it feels much
more FUN to think about breeding. We are going to reorganize the cattery
as far as breeding girls, to get the most optimal individuals we can, to
try to get further with our goal with chocolate & lilac variations
& SIZE!! So there will be some changes in the future.
Of
course, it won’t always be easy to plan the trips to Thailand, but we
will also rent out our condo in the high season, so hopefully we’ll be
able to coordinate as well as possible the breeding plans, and have a more
“pain free” mom here!...after all, I’m the one who does the breeding
“work”, though I don’t have to do the cat toaletts, which I’m
thankful for!!
There is
so much more I could write, but this will have to do for now.
As you
can all see, a lot is going on, and a lot more will be going on in the
future – I mean, we are looking at 10 years of breeding, when 2007 comes
around! It’s almost impossible to believe, but we’ve rounded the
alphabet, and will start at “A” with the next litter. A lot to look
back on, and a lot to look forward to!
While
I’m here – have a very MERRY
CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Bye for now,
